Break into Song

What is Break into Song?

Break into Song is a series of free web videos to help you to learn the stories behind new songs, to develop a teaching plan, and to integrate it into the flow of worship.

Being a church musician isn't easy. It's a challenge to find the time to learn new music and introduce it to your congregation. But, what we sing in community shapes what we believe and who we are. New music can deepen our prayer, strengthen our identity within the body of Christ, and help us discover God in unexpected ways.

It's a lot easier to teach a new song when it's been taught to you first, so you know the song from the inside out. We hope that these videos will support musicians like you in your ministry – and as a result, help energize and strengthen Christian communities.

What others are saying

"I am pleased to endorse Break into Song. Hilary knows how to help 'real' people find their song. She brings knowledge of worship and the people's song, creativity, theological insight, and a spirit of openness to the joyful duty of what I call the Eleventh Commandment: 'Sing to the Lord a new song!'" - C. Michael Hawn, Distinguished Professor of Church Music, Perkins School of Theology
